You can just buy one of our premium Apple Boxes, packed with our homegrown, juicy Arkansas Black apples – an old heirloom apple with a pretty reddish/purplish hue. Kauffman Orchards is a family-owned small business in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, established back in 1915 with a vision to provide the local community with fresh, nutritious fruit that enhances quality of life for the American consumer. Today, the orchard still follows that goal. Managed by the 4th and 5th generations of Kauffmans, Kauffman Orchards grows nutrient-dense fruit that has enhanced vitamins, minerals, and flavor. Arkansas Black has a sweet-tart flavor and a hard flesh, at least initially when harvested, and is believed to be a relative of the Winesap apple. It is a great storing apple – both the flavor and texture of the apple improve while in cold storage. This Apple Box contains premium, nutrient-dense, non-GMO, non-waxed Arkansas Black apples, and each apple has soft, high-density foam surrounding it to ensure protection during shipping. The 8-count box holds approximately 2.5-3 pounds of fresh apples; the 16-count box contains approximately 5-6 pounds and the 48-count box contains approximately 15-18 pounds. We carefully pack each apple box with the best quality apples that were picked by hand in our orchard. Refrigerate your apples upon arrival. Trying to be patient ?
I immediately tried one. It was good. I have them in storage and waiting for them to reach optimal flavor, which may be a challenge. I may just eat one each month to experience the flavor development ?. Very impressed by the packaging for shipment. Hope to order more in the future.
