Mud Sales

It’s Mud Sale Season!

“You’re selling mud!? No thanks!”

“Not me, they are. No, I mean it’s not mud. Wait, no, I mean, they are not selling mud!”

“But it’s called a mud sale.”

“Only because it’s often muddy at the sale, on account of inclement weather.”

“Well, ok.” Wait for it...

“...but who would want to traipse around in the mud all day just to, hey, where did you go?”

Car starts, a yell out the open car window, “Are you coming? You’ll love it!”

“Coming! I’m getting my boots!”

Once again, it’s that time of year. Look out the window. Go to the door and poke your head out. Is it sunny? Is it raining? How cold is it? Whatever the weather, it’s time to go. Don the appropriate attire and get down the road! Before you go, have a seat at the kitchen table. Get out your calendar and figure out which sales you want to schedule. For the next few months, actually all the way into October, there are sales, sales, sales! Yes, the annual Mud Sale season is upon us. People come from far and wide to eat, buy, and sell. If they don’t have it, you don’t need it!

If you are depending on this blog to keep you up to date about these tremendous events, don’t get too comfortable here, because this will be the one and only post highlighting these unique events. For a full list of all the sales and their dates go to LancasterPa.com.

In fact, two sales have already transpired: Strasburg Spring Consignment and Mud Sale was February 24th and Bart Township Auction & Mud Sale was last weekend. But for those of you locals, and those who want to travel to visit us, the next one is possibly the granddaddy of them all. Might I be biased? ‘Tis quite possible. ;) Get ready for the Gordonville Spring Mud Sale & Auction because it’s happening this weekend and you don’t want to miss it! Check out what happened last year:

Last year it was a beautiful, sunny day, close to 50F. But you never know what’s around the corner. Make sure you have boots and sunglasses ready to go. And be sure to pack a little snack for the trek from your car (the food isn’t that close!). Throw in a couple of our apples, some cider, and some trail mix. Once you get to the main event, everything is delightful! Quilts! Produce! Girl Scout Cookies! All this and the general hubbub of a truly Lancaster County tradition is something you don’t want to miss!

Mud Sale Season...Don’t Miss It!
