Baby it's Cold Outside' DIY Mulled Cider Mug Gift Idea
Disclosure: This blogger has partnered with Kauffman’s Fruit Farm to review and post about products that they receive for free. Original post appeared on Mama Cheaps.
My office has officially given way to my flair for crafting and has transformed into my very own version of Santa’s workshop. I have been pumping out the crafts left and right – many to give as gifts, some that friends have purchased to gift to others. I found the best mason jar mugs that are clear glass and each has a handle. I kept going back and forth on what to turn them into. Then it occurred to me to take some Cider Spice Bags and incorporate them into a winter drink themed gift.
I will be gifting these to Lily’s school teachers and to a few of my aunts this Christmas. They are such a sweet, winter-themed gift that can be given on their own or enhanced with a gift card to the recipient’s favorite store. I will also be whipping up a couple of extra mug sets to have on hand for those “need a last minute present or hostess gift” situations that ALWAYS spring up at this time of year!
My family LOVES hot mulled cider, but we rarely have it because it takes hours in the crock pot or on the stove to steep. Then I came across Cider Spice Bags from Kauffman’s Fruit Farm. These bags make a mug of mulled cider (or other juice if you get adventurous!) in just 3-5 minutes. They combine cinnamon chips, orange peel, cloves, allspice, and pure orange oil in a “tea” bag that you simply drop in your hot cider, allow a few minutes for steeping and enjoy.
For the mugs, I used my trusty Silhouette machine and cut my design on vinyl (Oracal 651).
I took 4 Cider Spice Bags per mug and used twine to tie them together. The spices were wrapped in tissue paper and tucked into the mug.
I am so happy with the end result!
You can replicate this gift very easily! Cider Spice Bags can be purchased online from Kauffman’s Fruit Farm.
