Happy Fall Y'all! It is finally Fall and I am super excited about it. I love everything about Fall. The cooler weather, the changing leaves, pumpkins, apples, Halloween, Thanksgiving....I could go on and on about Fall. I am so thankful to live in a part of the country that gets to experience the changing seasons. So while everyone is going crazy over pumpkin spice everything, I am excited about everything apples. I think the poor apple gets so overlooked and neglected this time of year.

Last year while trying to find a local apple orchard to be able to take family photos, I realized there are none around. How can that be? A decent apple orchard is at least a couple hours away in the mountains. That made me really sad. Sometimes traveling is just not an option for us.

The great thing about Kauffman's Fruit Farm is that I can order freshly picked apples from the orchard and have them delivered to my door. Now I know it is not the same as going and picking them yourself, but it is the next best thing.

The Mix 'n Match Fresh Apple Box can come in a range of 16-48 pieces of fruit. In my box for this month I chose an apple, pear, and plum variety. Four different kinds of apples-Ginger Gold, Honey Crisp, Gala, and Golden Supreme. Also in my box were Sweet Plums and Yellow Bartlett Pears. As soon as the box arrived my kids wanted to dig in before I could take some photos. The plums were gone in no time-perfectly sweet and delicious. The pears were some of the best I have ever had and my goodness the Honey Crisp apples were by far the best apples I have ever put in my mouth. They were perfectly sweet and crisp, just the way I like to eat an apple.

When the box of fruit arrives at your door it is packed with love and care so that each piece of fruit may arrive as if it was just picked from the orchard. I felt like it was Christmas when I opened up the box. Each layer was like opening another gift.

"This box uses high-density foam cushioning. Each piece of fruit occupies its own foam slot (some exceptions). We pack the box with fruit that is highest quality (some exceptions)."

When my sister and her husband were married they served an apple punch at their wedding reception. They had a nice Fall wedding and I am telling you, we couldn't keep the punch bowl filled. Everyone kept coming back for more. We had made it so many times that day it was crazy. It was surely a hit. My sister still has the recipe but I decided to recreate something similar for all of you to enjoy.

The rest of the apples are being put into the crock pot to make applesauce. Look for that recipe to post soon.

Just the right amount of sweet with a little bit a tartness.
